Art with the Masters III
Tuesday 9:30-12:00
With an eye for developing the young artist’s skills and love for creating, we will take a look at the artwork of the Ancients, pre-Renaissance into Renaissance works, and into the Impressionists and post-Impressionists. Students will learn the basic elements of art and use various artistic media to create their own masterpieces.

Brave Reader II
Tuesday 12:30-3:00
Learn to appreciate a book beyond a mere plot. Students will learn basic facts about literary elements, language usage and style through a study of classic children’s literature. Students must be able to keep up with reading one book per month and writing one analytical paper per month.

Beginning French III
Wednesday 9:30-12:00
This course is a continuation of the beginning French course for children. Students will continue to strengthen their conversational and writing skills through play, songs, poems and a picture-based language program. Students with no prior knowledge of French are welcome.

Beginning Spanish II
Thursday 9:30-12:00
This course will continue the Spanish language study begun last year. Emphasis will be given to conversation while strengthening reading and writing skills through a study of grammar and vocabulary. Students will investigate the music, art and culture of the Spanish-speaking world. New students are welcome.

Habitats
Wednesday 12:30-3:00
A beginning science class for 3rd and 4th graders. Students will explore the unique ecosystems of four distint habitats: oceans, deserts, wetlands and rain forests. The development of good observation skills is stressed as a key component of scientific inquiry. Good reading and writing skills recommended.

Science Explorers I
Thursday 12:30-3:00
This course takes an integrated approach to studying science. Topics will include life science, earth science and the physical sciences. In-class demonstrations and activities encourage students to ask the “why” of science. Students are required to participate in the WLC Science Fair in February. (advanced 4th through 6th graders only)
